This piece, part of material used to promote Sadborow Estate pheasants, is ironic in the light of the proposal to site a solar farm there.
"The estate is part of the West Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and borders Devon and Somerset. The land is managed for a mixture of wildlife conservation and game interests, alongside an award-winning organic dairy enterprise. A mixture of wildlife habitats cover the rolling hills and streams of the estate, including important country wildlife sites such as ancient woodland, diverse traditional hedges and areas of flower-rich meadows and verges. These habitats support a rich and varied number of wildlife species including several of conservation concern such as barn owls, grey partridge, dormice, harvest mice and brown hares. These species flourish with habitat management works that are aimed at protecting and increasing their populations."
